Sandrine, a determined Grade 9 student, recently lost her father. She lives with her mother, a casual laborer at a flower farm who supports her and her three daughters. Sandrine is the middle child.

Despite frequent school fee arrears, Sandrine performs well academically. She ranks 3rd out of 50 students, showing resilience and determination to succeed despite challenges.

Sandrine has a strong interest in English, her favorite subject. Passionate about storytelling and communication, she aspires to become a journalist. Through her school’s computer lab, established by Moja Tu and TechLit Africa, she has developed strong digital skills, most notably touch typing at 68 words per minute.

She is a natural athlete and the fastest sprinter at her school, excelling in short-distance running. Her speed and discipline make her a standout in sports.

Sandrine holds key leadership roles at school, serving as the Education Cabinet Secretary, where she supports learners in reading and improving their English skills. She is also a Scout Commander, demonstrating responsibility, confidence, and the ability to lead her peers effectively.

Sandrine is a bright, hardworking, and resilient young girl with strong potential. With support, she can remain in school without interruptions and pursue her dream of becoming a journalist who tells impactful stories. Join us in supporting Sandrine. About this Sponsorship

Sponsoring a secondary student is $1,020 a year, or $85 per month. Co-sponsoring a secondary student is $600 a year, or $50 per month. This amount covers the students’ tuition fees, and buys school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other personal effects required to live at boarding school.
