Paul is an outstanding Grade 9 student at Muruai Primary School in Laikipia, Kenya.  He stands out for his leadership, strong academics, and creativity. He is currently ranked 1st out of 44 students, a reflection of his consistency, focus, and strong commitment to his studies despite ongoing financial challenges at home.

Paul’s family are small-scale farmers who have struggled because of drought. This has made it hard for them to cover basic needs and school fees. Sometimes, Paul has had to leave school because of unpaid fees, but he always returns with determination and resilience.

Paul is a respected student leader at his school, which has over 450 students. He serves as both Environmental Minister and School President, helping students and teachers communicate and creating a positive school atmosphere. He is also the Class 7 Scout Commander, a position he earned through his discipline and leadership.

Paul works hard to promote gender equality and inclusivity at school. He shows maturity and a strong sense of responsibility. His leadership is based on service, integrity, and respect for others.

Paul is creative and talented in both art and technology. During his interview with the Moja Tu board, he showed a woven basket he made and an electronic diagram project. These examples highlight his interest in engineering and solving problems.

About this Sponsorship

Sponsoring a secondary student is $1,020 a year, or $85 per month. Co-sponsoring a secondary student is $600 a year, or $50 per month. This amount covers the students’ tuition fees, and buys school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other personal effects required to live at boarding school.
