Moses
All of our students are extraordinary and have overcome a lot in their education journey. While we’d like to tell all of their stories, let’s start with some stories selected especially for you.

Moses
High school
Moses is a disciplined Grade 9 student at Salama Primary School in Laikipia, Kenya. He comes from a large family of eight children and is the fifth born. His single mother works as a casual laborer and struggles to meet basic needs, including school fees, which has often led Moses to stay at home for extended periods. Despite these challenges, Moses continues to excel academically and stays determined to succeed.
He has consistently ranked 1st in his class of 45 students; last term, he ranked 2nd despite being away from school for most of the term due to unpaid school fees. His favorite subjects are Chemistry, Mathematics, and Business Studies, in which he shows a strong understanding and natural ability.
Moses has also spent the past three years learning in the Moja Tu computer lab, which was set up with TechLit Africa. He likes visual programming, making simple games, touch typing, and creating illustrated stories. These activities have helped him become more creative and skilled with computers.
Outside the classroom, Moses takes part in school leadership and other activities. He plays on the volleyball team, leads as a Scout Commander, and helps as a school speaker to support communication and coordination. He also helps the chairperson with leadership tasks, showing that he is responsible and works well with others.
Moses is talented at drawing and hopes to become an architect one day. None of his siblings have finished secondary school, so his achievements are especially impressive.
Moses is smart, creative, and determined, with great potential. With sponsorship, he could attend school regularly and work toward his dreams, helping his family break the cycle of poverty. Will you help empower Moses today to finish high school?

About this Sponsorship
Sponsoring a secondary student is $1,020 a year, or $85 per month. Co-sponsoring a secondary student is $600 a year, or $50 per month. This amount covers the students’ tuition fees, and buys school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other personal effects required to live at boarding school.
The Sponsor Experience
-
Cassie and Elijah
“When we signed up to sponsor our students, we hoped it would help improve their lives. What we didn’t expect was how it would change ours.
Our students have become our teachers about life, gratitude, optimism, and finding joy in each moment. Supporting an education is a direct investment into these students and their future. Through a sponsorship with Moja Tu, you have the opportunity to create a meaningful relationship with a student that will change not only their life, but yours as well.”
