Sponsor a Student
All of our students are extraordinary and have overcome a lot in their education journey. While we’d like to tell all of their stories, let’s start with some stories selected especially for you.
David
High school
David is the youngest of three siblings living in challenging conditions in the Naivasha slums. He lives in a cramped, one-room rented house with his single father, who battles a drinking problem and often displays violent behavior, creating a tumultuous environment for David and his siblings. Despite these hardships, he remains resilient and dedicated to his education.
Recently enrolled in junior high school, David’s academic journey is threatened by financial instability. His father struggles to afford school fees and essential resources like books, putting David at risk of dropping out.
David’s resilience and determination are evident in his unwavering focus on his studies. He sees education not just as a means to escape poverty but as his beacon of hope for a better future, where he can break free from the cycle of poverty and instability. Apart from performing well academically, he is good at football.
By sponsoring David, you are investing in a promising future for a young boy with immense potential. Your support will provide him with the opportunity to pursue his dreams and overcome the obstacles he faces at home.
About this Sponsorship
Sponsoring a secondary student is $1,020 a year, or $85 per month. Co-sponsoring a secondary student is $600 a year, or $50 per month. This amount covers the students’ tuition fees, and buys school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other personal effects required to live at boarding school.
The Sponsor Experience
-
Cassie and Elijah
“When we signed up to sponsor our students, we hoped it would help improve their lives. What we didn’t expect was how it would change ours.
Our students have become our teachers about life, gratitude, optimism, and finding joy in each moment. Supporting an education is a direct investment into these students and their future. Through a sponsorship with Moja Tu, you have the opportunity to create a meaningful relationship with a student that will change not only their life, but yours as well.”
