Zakayo
All of our students are extraordinary and have overcome a lot in their education journey. While we’d like to tell all of their stories, let’s start with some stories selected especially for you.

Zakayo
University
Zakayo is a hardworking and ambitious young man from a small rural village in Kenya. His journey has not been easy — after being abandoned by their mother, Zakayo and his sibling were raised by their grandmother with no financial support. Despite these hardships, Zakayo remained focused on his education and refused to let his circumstances define his future.
He joined the Moja Tu program in 2021 through a recommendation from a trusted community contact. Since then, he has consistently demonstrated dedication and discipline in his studies. Zakayo is now in his second year pursuing a diploma in electrical engineering and continues to impress with his determination and drive.
Zakayo sees education as a powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty. He is committed to using his knowledge not only to build a better life for himself but also to uplift his family and give back to his community.
To continue his education journey, Zakayo needs a sponsor or co-sponsors to support his university studies. He is self-motivated, resilient, and full of potential. Will you help Zakayo take the next step toward a brighter future?

About this Sponsorship
Sponsoring a university student costs $2,100 a year or $175 per month, and co-sponsoring with another sponsor costs $1080 a year or $90 monthly. This amount will cover the student’s tuition fees, monthly upkeep, accommodation, and medical care.
The Sponsor Experience
-
Cassie and Elijah
“When we signed up to sponsor our students, we hoped it would help improve their lives. What we didn’t expect was how it would change ours.
Our students have become our teachers about life, gratitude, optimism, and finding joy in each moment. Supporting an education is a direct investment into these students and their future. Through a sponsorship with Moja Tu, you have the opportunity to create a meaningful relationship with a student that will change not only their life, but yours as well.”
