Empowering the Next Generation: 203 Students Supported
In 2024, we supported 203 students in their educational journeys, giving them the tools and opportunities to pursue their dreams. Among them, 107 students are in university, embarking on diverse academic paths and preparing for bright futures. This includes 16 high school graduates who have stepped confidently into the next chapter of their lives, ready to further their education.
We are also happy to share that seven students graduated from university this year, a remarkable achievement that speaks to the dedication and hard work of both the students and their sponsors. These graduates are now equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to their communities and beyond.
Achieving Equity in Education: Gender Balance and Empowerment
A core focus for Moja Tu is ensuring that education is accessible to all, regardless of gender. In 2024, 54% of the students we empowered were female, while 46% were male—reflecting our commitment to supporting both genders equally. Education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, and through our programs, we are creating opportunities for both young men and women to succeed and become leaders in their fields.
Fostering Digital Literacy: Launching 10 Computer Labs
This year, in partnership with Techlit Africa, we launched 10 computer labs across various communities, providing thousands of students with the opportunity to acquire valuable digital skills. These labs have already empowered over 5,000 students, giving them the tools to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Our collaboration with Techlit Africa has allowed us to bridge the digital divide and offer students the skills needed to succeed in today’s technology-driven economy.
Robotics Tournaments: Nurturing Innovation and Teamwork
We are incredibly proud of the success of our two robotics tournaments held at Muruai and Kapkures Primary School in Laikipia. These tournaments were more than just competitions—they were opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills. The events were a huge success, showcasing the innovation and resilience of our students and reinforcing the importance of hands-on learning in STEM fields.
Exceptional Retention and Graduation Rates
Our students’ success is a direct reflection of the commitment and dedication of our team and the incredible support from our community. In 2024, we maintained an outstanding retention rate of 99%, ensuring that students continue to receive the resources and encouragement they need to stay on track. We also celebrated a 100% high school graduation rate, a remarkable achievement that speaks to our programs’ effectiveness and students’ resilience.
Nourishing Communities: Feeding Students, Families, and Partners
In 2024, Moja Tu provided meals to 4,200 individuals, including students, their families, and our partner children’s homes—Dream and Manaseh. Access to nutritious food plays a key role in supporting education, helping students and their communities stay healthy, focused, and successful. Your support makes this possible.
