New Year, New Goals: Inspiring Resolutions from Our Students

January 2, 2025

A new year is more than just a flip of the calendar—it’s a symbol of new beginnings, fresh aspirations, and opportunities to build a brighter future. At Moja Tu, we are privileged to witness the passion and determination our students bring to this season, turning their dreams into actionable goals. Their resolutions are more than inspiring; they are proof to the power of focus and the drive for personal growth.

Simon: Learning for a Limitless Future

Simon, a first-year information technology student, has embraced the new year with a commitment to self-improvement. While adjusting to the rigors of university life, he’s also taking online courses to expand his skill set and gain valuable certifications. Simon shares, “I’m targeting certifications from the online courses I’m currently pursuing. I want to build a foundation that prepares me for endless possibilities in my future career.”

His proactive approach reminds us all that education extends beyond the classroom and that personal development is a lifelong journey.

Purity: Academic Excellence and Creative Growth

For Purity, a driven third-year control and instrumentation engineering student, the new year is about achieving a balance between academic success and creative exploration. She has set clear objectives: improving her grades, meeting her semester targets, and dedicating time to research.

“Self-development is my priority this year,” Purity explains. “I aim to improve my grades and use research as a tool to boost my creativity skills.” Her focus on creativity demonstrates how education is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about nurturing critical thinking and innovation.

Elijah: Bridging the Gap Between Education and Practice

Elijah, a recent nursing graduate, embodies the transition from academic learning to real-world application. This year, his goals are rooted in gaining hands-on experience, enhancing his digital skills, and preparing for his national nursing examinations.

“I’m looking forward to an internship in either a private or government hospital, where I can apply what I’ve learned,” he shares. “I also plan to enhance my computer skills and sit for my national exams in September.”

Elijah’s determination to bridge the gap between theory and practice is a reminder of the importance of preparation and adaptability in the professional world.

A Shared Commitment to Growth

Each of these students demonstrates the transformative power of setting intentional goals and working toward them with purpose. Their resolutions reflect not only personal ambition but also a broader commitment to making an impact in their communities and beyond.

As you step into this new year, consider the example set by Simon, Purity, and Elijah. Their stories show us that with clarity, effort, and a willingness to embrace new challenges, we can all make meaningful progress toward our dreams.

What are your resolutions for this year? Let these students inspire you to chart a course for growth, discovery, and success.
