Sponsor a Student
All of our students are extraordinary and have overcome a lot in their education journey. While we’d like to tell all of their stories, let’s start with some stories selected especially for you.
Justin
High school
Justin, a bright and ambitious thirteen-year-old, resides in the Huruma slums in Nairobi with his single mother and ailing grandmother. Despite his mother being unemployed, she works tirelessly as a casual laborer to support the family. Recently, they faced a devastating setback due to floods that destroyed their home and belongings.
Despite these hardships, Justin remains steadfast in his pursuit of education to lift his family out of poverty. His dream of becoming a pilot fuels his determination to excel academically.
Living in a cramped single-room house, Justin’s family struggles financially, making it impossible for his mother to afford his school fees this year. Nonetheless, Justin’s resilience and unwavering spirit shine through as he continues to chase his dreams against all odds.
Sponsoring Justin’s high school education would provide him with the stability and resources needed to excel academically and move closer to his goal of becoming a pilot. By supporting Justin, you are not only investing in his future but also empowering a family determined to overcome adversity and build a better life.
About this Sponsorship
Sponsoring a secondary student is $1,020 a year, or $85 per month. Co-sponsoring a secondary student is $600 a year, or $50 per month. This amount covers the students’ tuition fees, and buys school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other personal effects required to live at boarding school.
The Sponsor Experience
-
Cassie and Elijah
“When we signed up to sponsor our students, we hoped it would help improve their lives. What we didn’t expect was how it would change ours.
Our students have become our teachers about life, gratitude, optimism, and finding joy in each moment. Supporting an education is a direct investment into these students and their future. Through a sponsorship with Moja Tu, you have the opportunity to create a meaningful relationship with a student that will change not only their life, but yours as well.”
