My name is Joshua Munyoki, and my journey is a testament to the power of education, mentorship, hard work, and determination.
I am a proud alumnus of Moja Tu Organization and was among the first group of top-performing students to receive sponsorship through the organization in 2013. This opportunity became a turning point in my life, opening doors that would have otherwise remained out of reach. Through the support and encouragement I received, I was able to pursue my education and focus on building a meaningful future.
As I progressed in my studies and professional development, I developed a strong passion for the hospitality industry, particularly the culinary field. This passion led me to join the prestigious Tamarind Group of Hotels, where I underwent intensive training to sharpen my skills and gain hands-on experience.
My dedication and commitment paid off in 2024, when I was honored as the Tamarind Group of Hotels Master Apprentice Student after successfully completing one year of training. This achievement was a significant milestone in my career and reinforced my belief that hard work and perseverance always produce results.
Today, I am proud to be working as a chef on an American cruise line, fulfilling a dream that I have worked towards for many years. Working in the international hospitality industry has allowed me to grow professionally, interact with people from diverse cultures, and continually refine my culinary skills.
Looking back, I recognize the important role that Moja Tu Organization played in shaping my future. The organization’s support provided me with opportunities that helped me build a successful career path. Through Moja Tu, I have achieved personal and professional growth.
One of my greatest sources of pride is being able to support myself and contribute to the well-being of my family members. The journey has not always been easy, but every challenge has strengthened my determination to succeed.
My story is proof that when young people are given access to education, mentorship, and opportunity, they can transform their lives and positively impact their families and communities.
