Empowering Engineers of Tomorrow

March 5, 2024

On this Global Day of the Engineer, we celebrate the bright minds and innovative spirits of tomorrow’s engineering leaders. At Moja Tu, we’re proud to support students like Purity and Zakayo as they pursue their dreams in the field of engineering. Let’s dive into their inspiring journeys and learn about the impact they’re poised to make.

Meet Purity

Purity is a confident and self-driven young lady from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Reflecting on her journey, Purity shares, “I chose engineering because it involves math and physics, which I loved in high school, and I’ve always been passionate about pursuing engineering since I was young.”

Purity finds the engineering field fascinating as it connects theory with practical applications in daily life. She highlights how her creativity and drawing skills have flourished through her coursework.

Despite facing gender stereotypes, Purity remains undeterred, fueled by her determination to prove skeptics wrong. Her vision as an engineer is to drive innovation and contribute to Kenya’s engineering sector.

Grateful for the opportunity provided by Moja Tu, Purity expresses her heartfelt appreciation, recognizing the role it plays in making her dreams a reality.

Meet Zakayo

Zakayo is an intelligent and committed young man currently in his first year at Multimedia University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Growing up, he was always fascinated with electrical devices, which drew him to this course. Zakayo shares, “Although this course is challenging for some students, it brings me happiness and fulfillment.”

Despite facing academic challenges, such as unfamiliarity with physics concepts, Zakayo demonstrates resilience and determination. He aspires to leverage his engineering skills to address electricity-related issues and create job opportunities for other people.

“I hope to start my own electricity-related business where I will be able to create more job opportunities for people in my community,” Zakayo says.

Expressing his gratitude to Moja Tu, Zakayo acknowledges the pivotal role it plays in shaping his future and fulfilling his aspirations.

As we celebrate the Global Day of the Engineer, let’s honor the dedication and passion of aspiring engineers like Purity and Zakayo. Through our sponsorship, we can empower the engineers of tomorrow to shape a brighter and more innovative world. Join us in championing their journey and supporting their dreams.
