Purity is a form 2 student at Graceland Girls High school. She comes from Makueni County in Kenya. We recently caught up with her over the April holiday and here is what she had to say about her time in Moja Tu so far:
“I just completed my first term at a new school and the experience so far has been amazing. The school has a great learning environment and also promotes its students’ growth in not just academics, but other interests and talents like sports and music. My grades in school have improved since I came to this school, thanks to the involvement of my teachers, who are always trying to help the students do their best.
During my free time, I love spending my time playing football and also dancing. I am also a member of a few clubs at school. The St. John Ambulance cadets teaches the basics of first aid. Also, as a member of the mathematics club, I attended a mathematics contest at another school and helped my school’s team win the contest!
When I grow up, I would like to become a doctor. The main reason as to why I am focused on this is because I want to help the sick. I would also like to change the lives of my family by working hard in my studies to create a bright future for myself.
Moja Tu is the best thing that has ever happened in my life. As a Moja Tu sponsored student, I do not worry about being sent away from school because my school fees are always paid on time. I would like to take this chance to express my sincere gratitude to my sponsor Jessica for her continued support in my studies. Over this last holiday, I was privileged enough to meet my sponsor with the rest of the Moja Tu team. It was like a dream come true for me. I was so happy and overwhelmed with joy to finally meet the person who supports my studies.
With education I know my future is guaranteed and I will always strive for the best. Thank you Moja Tu!”
