Meet Ndeto: A Future Leader!

Meet Ndeto, a 12-year-old boy in class 7. He is so excited to move on to class 8 at the start of next year. At the end of 2020, he will take his primary school exit exams and be ready to move on to high school. We are so proud of all that he has achieved since joining the program. At Moja Tu we are committed to enhancing children’s lives by empowering them with the gift of education, and Ndeto is a perfect example of what a child can do when someone believes in them. We recently caught up with Ndeto, and here is what he had to say:

“My name is Ndeto, and I am in class 7 at Lekuruki Primary School. I am excited that I am almost done with my primary education, but I am focusing on finishing well. I would like to continue with my studies all the way through university, so I know that I have to work hard now to prepare myself for university later. I love school because we get to learn many things that help us in our daily lives. My favorite subjects in school are Science and Mathematics.

I live at Dream Children’s Home, which has been my home for quite some time. I’ve never felt like I had to find my place at Dream; it feels like I’ve always been a part of the family. When I am not in school, my friends at the home and I like to play football. I am also a scout. Being a scout equips me with vital survival skills, and gives me the opportunity to go camping and hiking with my fellow scouts. Scouting instills discipline and teaches me the value of giving back to society. When I grow up, I would like to become a soldier so I can serve my country.

I would like to acknowledge my sponsor Erika. She is more of a mom to me than a sponsor. She is loving and caring and I love her very much. She always sends me gifts and letters. She also encourages me to keep working hard in my studies. There is no better feeling than knowing that someone out there cares for me. We may be miles apart, but we are always together at heart.

I would like to thank the entire Moja Tu organization for being a good family to me. I will keep working hard to fulfill my dreams and aspirations.”
