Edwin is confident, articulate and a go-getter. He scored an impressive 370 marks in his KCPE and he is looking forward to joining high school especially since he was selected to join a top national school in his region. However, he is afraid that he might have to give up his chance at the premier school for lack of school fees.
He comes from a single parent family and his father struggles to pay for their school fees as he has no stable job. One of his elder siblings is sponsored by the church and his other sibling is supported by the extended family.
Edwin, who likes Math and English, wants to be an accountant and he hopes to get a scholarship that will enable him pursue his studies seamlessly so that he can concentrate on his studies. Once done with school, he wants to help other needy students like him to pursue education as he believes it will help them to be successful as well.
Sponsoring a secondary student is $1,020 a year, or $85 per month. This amount covers the students' tuition fees, and buys school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other personal effects required to live at boarding school.
