It has been three years since Dinel started her journey with Moja Tu. Over the years we have watched her blossom from a young girl uncertain about her future into a responsible woman, enthusiastic and hopeful about where she is headed in life. After graduating from high school at the end of 2018, Dinel was accepted to Kenyatta University to pursue a Bachelor’ of Arts in Theatre and Film Technology. We are so proud of Dinel’s accomplishments, and we can’t wait to see what else is in store for her. Education gives students like Dinel the platform they need to be successful in life.
“My experience in Moja Tu so far has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve always had an interest in theatre arts, so I’m overjoyed to be able to pursue a career in this field with Moja Tu’s help. I hope to specialize in production and directing in the future.
So far, my favorite classes are my dance classes. I have also been able to meet and interact with people of many different backgrounds and cultures. My short-term goals for now are to get good grades and master all the skills I learn about here. After graduating with my Bachelor’s, I’d love to eventually go back to school and earn a second degree or Master’s some day because I want to perfect my art. I would like to become an actress as well.
Before I joined Moja Tu, things were very different for me. I remember I was always on the list of students to be sent home to collect school fees. Thanks to Moja Tu, I know that this will never be the case again. Moja Tu gives me peace of mind knowing that my school fees are completely paid so I can direct all my energy into doing well in school. I would like to thank the entire Moja Tu family and especially my sponsors Rachael and Teresa for helping me through my high school career, and supporting me now in my university dreams. I don’t think I’d ever have seen the gates of university were it not for you. I love you all, and I am so proud to be part of the Moja Tu family!”
