COVID-19 Support for Students and Families
In mid-March, schools were abruptly shut down in Kenya and all students were sent back home in response to the spread of COVID-19. Moja Tu students attend boarding schools, so going back home indefinitely is a challenge for their families. Most of our students’ families are agrarians but due to the locust problems, all their crops have been wiped out. These families need our support with basic food items, hygienic products and educational materials for students to use outside of the classroom.
Unfortunately Kenya does not have a robust infrastructure, so the government moving towards a full lock down will hopefully help contain the spread of the disease. In the meantime, please help us combat the spread of coronavirus in Kenya by donating to our support fund!
With your donations over the past month, we’ve been able to provide 1,000 families across Kenya with lifesaving supplies, including staple foods for 60 days, access to clean water for 30 days, protective and sanitary gear such as masks, hand sanitizers and soaps, and educational materials for our students to help them stay on top of their subjects while they are out of school. We want to maximize our efforts to help Kenyan families during this difficult time, so we are continuing to provide these important necessities to families around the country for the foreseeable future.
Can you help us continue to supply Kenyan families with the basic supplies they need to survive during this ongoing pandemic? Just $10 supplies just one family with a care package full of invaluable sanitary and protective supplies! Please consider giving to our campaign today!
